Knill By Mouth

But we don't want to give you that!

We're on a pilgrimage and if there's one thing that god doesn't like it's cheats. We are doing the whole [hedge]hog (after all, we are on a mission from god), so, we take you into the badlands of Cardboard Bay.

Keep on the Coast Path to St. Ives.

Cross over the (next) rail bridge and keep going until you reach this fork in the path. (Yes, I know it doesn't look like it from here but trust the Reporting Team) ....

Route of St. Michael's Way, Penwith, Cornwall 17
..... See? Coning from the other direction it's much clearer.  (3 on Map) Route of St. Michael's Way, Penwith, Cornwall 18
Head up the steps and follow the path. Route of St. Michael's Way, Penwith, Cornwall 19
At the top turn right onto (briefly) the main road. (4 on Map) Route of St. Michael's Way, Penwith, Cornwall 20
The Cornish Arms is included merely to help you navigate .....

..... You don't think we're doing this for pleasure, do you?

Route of St. Michael's Way, Penwith, Cornwall 21
Just past the Cornish Arms you will find a small junction on the left (if you're heading into St. Ives). (5 on Map) Route of St. Michael's Way, Penwith, Cornwall 22
It is actually two roads but you want to ignore the main(ish) road, which will take you to S. Ives Skool, and take the one that is clearly (I'm not going to do it all for you) marked Steeple Lane. Route of St. Michael's Way, Penwith, Cornwall 23
Just head up the old 'frog and toad', ignoring any seductive side-turns until you arrive here. (Where the road obviously bends to the right away from the Knill Monument). (6 on Map) Route of St. Michael's Way, Penwith, Cornwall 24
Here you will evidence that you are on the right track ..... Route of St. Michael's Way, Penwith, Cornwall 25
..... and that the Ministry of Non-Information got there first! Route of St. Michael's Way, Penwith, Cornwall 26
Just go up the path (on your left) ..... Route of St. Michael's Way, Penwith, Cornwall 27
..... and soon the Knill Monument hoves into view. Route of St. Michael's Way, Penwith, Cornwall 28

Have a quick breather and enjoy the view.
