It's all you have to do, just put one foot in front of the other, close your eyes and think beautiful thoughts, .....
Ouch! OK, so that was a stupid idea. The one thing you can't afford to do is close your eyes on the coast path. Not if you want to ever open them again!
There are no quick fixes on the coast path, no side-turns, no shops and, once you've reached River Cove, no point going back because it's just as hard as going forward. You've ..... just ..... got ..... to ..... keep ..... going.
Of course, it should be pointed out that walking the coast path from Zennor to St. Ives is just as beautiful. I've got the pictures to prove it.
Mind you, I don't remember seeing these views at the time but that's probably because at this stage I was reduced to sucking the fluid out of my eyeballs to try to avoid terminal dehydration.
Two and a half hours worth of blood, sweat, toil and tears later .....
..... my eyes have seen the glory of the coming of St. Ives
Just time to nip back home for a shower. Then, I'll put my feet in the fridge and take the rest of me down to the Sloop.
