Down and out in SI

So what now?

Taking  well-earned R&R, trawling the jobs vacant columns or going west to seek you fame and fortune?

What happened?

Just as well we didn't leave young Lucy with you - would've been one more mouth to feed.

Don't suppose you'll be frequenting the slupe much now?

Poverty.

No, yes and there's nothing further west ('cept the Atlantic).

I was fired as they decided they wouldn't need so many staff for a few months.

RT are already advertising for a replacement surrogate parent (please bring proof of income).

Don't suppose I'll be doing anything much now.

Every cloud has a silver lining........................for your faithful reader(s)...................................................................... at least you won't be whingeing on about having to work on xmaseve/day/boxingday/new years eve.............

That's bloody typical of kids - put the boot in when you're down.  I'd just give them a map and tell them to find their way here, Lucy's getting a tad out of claw now that she thinks she has a sheep-friend.  I don't like to do it but the merest hint of bisque or thermador and she soon quietens down.

Do "they" know sometink that the emmets don't?  Is SI closing for the festive season?

You could always go to t'skool of mines and collect you certificate!  Seriously though, sorry to hear about it, not nice at any time of year but always feels so much worse around xmas.  I'm sure you've vented your spleen and exhausted your repetoire of expletives.

Damn right! No more whingeing now.

Having had a vow of poverty forced upon me, I might as well go the whole Trappist hog and take a vow of silence as well.

Listen ..... nary a whinge in the air.

Sssssssssssh.

Think of all the recipes you could perfect with a whole hog.

Hush......................I'm sure I heard the merest whisper, a faint hint of a rustle.....................no, perhaps not............like the scuttle of a scorpion on sand.............no, no, its just my imagination.........

I just get my head round that idea.  VJ+silence =a-very-strange-concept-with-which-I-am-entirely-ill-at-ease
